About
We spent years inside the agency model before we left it. This is what we kept, what we threw out, and why the work is better for it.
We left the agency model on purpose
In most agencies the people you meet aren’t the people who do the work. Someone sells it, someone else relays it, and by the time it reaches a designer or a developer your idea has been paraphrased twice by people who were never going to build it.
We spent years inside that, and a fair share of the problems we fixed were problems the structure had created. So we left, and kept the one part that always worked: sitting down with the person whose site it is, and then building the thing ourselves.
There’s no account layer here, no junior quietly handed the parts nobody wanted, and nothing subcontracted out of sight. Two people, start to finish.
The two of us
Design, build and the servers underneath are all one of us. Whoever you end up talking to is whoever does the work.

Caleb
Co-Founder / Developer
Builds the themes, writes the code, and looks after the machines it all runs on. Most of what you never notice about a website is his: how fast it loads, whether it survives an update, whether the backups would actually restore.

Stacey
Co-Founder / Designer
Draws the pages before anything gets built, and keeps the work on its dates once it is. Usually the one asking what a page is actually for, which is how it tends to end up shorter and clearer than the brief it started as.
What that actually gets you
Two people is a constraint before it is anything else. These are the three things it buys back.
No one in between
You talk to us, and we’re the ones who build it. Say it once and we’ve got it. Nobody new turns up halfway through asking you to start over.
Nothing is subcontracted
We do the design, the build, the hosting and the DNS ourselves. So whatever comes up, you email us and one of us handles it. Same two people who built it.
We take on fewer projects
We keep our list short on purpose, so you get both of us and dates we can actually keep. When we say yes to a project, you have us until it’s finished.
Like the sound of it?
Tell us what you are working on and we will give you an honest answer about whether we are the right two people for it.
